Joslyn Beard is a community educator who believes in creating safe spaces for youth, the formerly incarcerated, and families in repair. Joslyn excels at leading innovative education for nonprofits that is easily digestible and accessible.
Joslyn’s work is inclusive and empathetic.
A survivor of incarceration, Joslyn believes that with the right kind of influence, you can inspire people to believe in themselves past their circumstances onto brighter and more rewarding beginnings.
Joslyn Beard has experience offering counseling to Domestic Violence survivors, families navigating the Autism spectrum, as well as parents and teens in drug and alcohol recovery. Joslyn has created virtual and in-personal learning opportunities for all demographics throughout LA county, including an international virtual-learning program for youth.
Following the loss of rapper Nipsey Hussle, Joslyn created an RTVF program for youth in Watts to be able to voice their grief, not only about the loss of the famed rapper, but about that of a close friend and classmate who was killed that same week.
With more than 10 years of experience offering her continued support to the community of the County of Los Angeles, Joslyn has set her focus on continuing to create educational opportunities for the justice-involved here with CROP.
Joslyn obtained her Bachelor's degree from San Jose State University and majored in Sociology, Community Change and Child and Adolescent Development. Additionally, Joslyn became a Certified Grant Writer at Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2014 and she plans to continue her education by pursuing her Juris Doctorate in Public Policy.
